The Original Sin?
The original sin, a subject frequently discussed by students of the Bible. Among other goals, they intend to give explanations about the possible spiritual and moral impediment, under which men are born. It is also called “inherent sin” due to be inside the root of all actual sins, because it derives from Adam, and be present in every individual’s life from the moment of his birth.
The Greek church fathers said that there is a physical corruption of the human race from Adam, but that does not involve guilt, which corresponds to a differentiation made in the book of Leviticus to differentiate the atonement by the sacrifice of atonement and expiation of sin by the sacrifice of guilt trip (or any fault). Then there are sins and sins without guilt with blame. When we sin with knowledge, understanding, then there is guilt.
There are still controversies on this subject and historically was the cause of schisms, heresies and possible divisions among Christians since the early centuries of Christianity, and “visions” of different anthropologists, psychoanalysts and others about its real meaning.
But what the Bible says what? Well, as a duty of conscience and personal truth, having discoursed other opinions, we would like to present an interpretation, assuming to be the closest to the biblical truth. For this, we will discuss in the holy book: the book of Genesis, the first human beings and the ancestors of humanity, Adam and Eve were warned by God that if they ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the same day die, what they did was instigated by the serpent, and Eve accepted the instigation of the first and offered the fruit to Adam, who accepted. However still alive, despite the expulsion from the Garden of Eden, then it seems reasonable to understand that God was speaking of another kind of death, spiritual death.
This is strongly emphasized in the New Testament, the apostle Paul describes the state of Christians in the Epistle to the Ephesians before conversion as those who were “dead in trespasses and sins”, as he says to Timothy: “But she that liveth in pleasure living dead “and Christ himself puts it clearly also in the Gospel according to Matthew” Let the dead bury their dead. ”
So while the unregenerate man is physically alive, he is dead in the eyes of God.
Later, in the Epistle to the Romans, we have the following text: “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, so death passed upon all men, because all sinned.” What has happened to all men? It was sin? Not according to the biblical text was death, spiritual death.
Thus, the inheritance received a death and sin not …
So, being born spiritually dead, that is, separated from God in the flesh and living alone without the help of God as it is written: “… Walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh “(Gal. 1.6), we can only abound in the fruits of the flesh, and so go on sinning and sinning. “… for that all sinned. “(Romans 5:12)
In contrast to the works of the flesh, to live the way we have integrity and honesty that the Bible calls “the fruit of the Spirit.” This way of life is realized in the believer as he allows the Spirit to influence and direct your life in such a way that it overwhelms the works of the flesh, and walk in fellowship with God (Romans 8.5-14).
According to the Catholic Church, an ancient Christian church, and is still taught in catechisms and studies, he was the first sin on earth. With that all descendants of Adam and Eve, except Mary, who was the mother of Jesus, came into the world with it and its consequences. (Separate the “sister” Mary is clearly a big mistake!) For it the book of Luke had two lovebirds in expiation of sin and no guilt. (Luke 2:24) The sacrifice was for the mother or the child? Certainly it was for the mother and one of the reasons was the flow of blood (“Every man hath his flesh is unclean”). In the book of Leviticus in the cap. 12 that is best explained: “If a woman conceive, … shall be unclean seven days.” For the child the law asks for nothing? No. Then why? If I had sin in the eyes of God, would be for the sacrifice of expiation of sin at birth. No sin, but also has no life, spiritual life.
It is clear biblically that God does not impute sin, and even in the case of Jacob and Esau in the womb of his mother, says that the word had no sin, but by saying that the election was greater serve the younger. (Romans 9:12)
So, in conclusion and understanding to be more appropriate, propose to change the subject, with controversy, known as “original sin” to the original death because I think more biblically accurate, or even for original tendency or inclination to sin.
How about that?
